# Easy Email Verification

> Easy Email Verification (EEV) is a REST API that verifies email addresses — syntax, domain, MX and mailbox checks, plus disposable, role-based and catch-all detection — to reduce invalid signups and bounces. Base URL: https://api.easyemailverification.com/v1

EEV authenticates with an API key (`X-API-Key` header) or, on the MCP server, with OAuth (claude.ai, ChatGPT and other OAuth clients sign in with the user's account). The hosted MCP server is https://mcp.easyemailverification.com/mcp (Streamable HTTP). The REST API is https://api.easyemailverification.com/v1. Every integration uses the user's own key and credits. Rules for AI agents:

- Send the API key in the `X-API-Key` header, from a backend. Never put it in browser or mobile code, and never ask the user to paste it; read it from `EEV_API_KEY`.
- Test with the public sandbox key `eev_sandbox_key` and addresses at `sandbox.easyemailverification.com` (no account, no credits).
- `result` is `valid`, `invalid` or `unknown`; treat `unknown` as neither, and `success: true` as no proof of validity.
- Use the bulk endpoints for lists, not a loop over single verifications.
- Use only documented endpoints and fields; do not invent behavior.
